Programme and project delivery for the built environment — procurement, cost, contracts (NEC/JCT literacy), risk and stakeholder management — for site and client-side professionals. You will work through the material as a practitioner-researcher: applied methods, real or anonymised cases, and a supervised capstone or dissertation as the final component. Students move from Real Estate & Infrastructure Markets through Real Estate & Infrastructure Markets; Valuation Theory & Practice; Investment Analysis & Finance; Asset & Portfolio Management; Development Appraisal, Planning & Risk; Procurement, Contracts & Delivery, and finish on Built-Environment Capstone. Each course has a question, a method, and a submission. In this field, students draw the system, name the constraint that binds it, and compare two responses. Reading is a system description, an indicator note, and a project option paper. The artefact a marker expects is a recommendation for one decision, with the evidence and the downside. The award is built so that a graduate can do the following in practice: Appraise a development or an asset and defend the numbers Manage whole-life assets with condition data and investment planning Work within planning, valuation and procurement frameworks Teaching assumes the student can read a source, attempt a problem before the seminar, and revise after feedback. Attendance at live seminars is part of the design. The capstone or final course must use the methods of the earlier courses; a project that ignores them does not pass.
