Silesian Eurasia University Publishes Clear Rules on Generative Tools: Use Them Like a Professional, Never as a Ghostwriter

global students already use digital tools at work. Pretending those tools do not exist would be dishonest teaching. Silesian Eurasia University has therefore published rules that treat generative systems as professional instruments with limits.

Students may use tools to brainstorm structure, check grammar, or explore counter-arguments if the programme allows it and if they declare the use. They may not submit generated analysis, fabricated citations, or code they cannot explain in a viva. Markers are authorised to viva any student, including Nalini Fernando in Colombo, whose submission does not match their prior voice.

"Integrity is how we protect the value of every honest graduate," said the Chair of Academic Standards. "If we ignore undeclared generation, we cheat the global students who did the work."

Workshops show good and bad declarations. Students practise rewriting a generated paragraph into their own argument with sources. Faculty share how they use tools in research without laundering responsibility.

Misconduct procedures remain staged: poor practice may receive an academic penalty and mandatory training; repeated or severe cases may fail the module or the award. Students have a right to be heard.

The policy is written in plain language and will be translated where SEU already supports another campus language. A student in Colombo should not need a lawyer to understand the rules.

Silesian Eurasia University will review the policy annually as tools change. The standard will not change: the degree certifies the student's judgement, not a model's fluency.

For global students considering Silesian Eurasia University, the practical test is always the same: can you complete serious academic work without abandoning the life you already have in Colombo? The university's answer is yes — if you will do the reading, meet the deadlines, and accept that a degree is assessed, not gifted. Nalini Fernando, working as a NGO programme manager, is the kind of student this news is written for: employed, ambitious, and unwilling to treat relocation as a tuition they never agreed to pay.

Staff across admissions, registry, teaching and student services have been told to design every process as if the default student is studying after a full day's work. That means recorded sessions, published rubrics, named advisers, and library help that does not vanish at the end of one country's office hours. It also means SEU will not pretend a programme is light. Applicants among learners in more than 150 countries who need a serious degree they can complete without leaving home or work should plan weekly hours before they accept an offer, and they should ask uncomfortable questions at the open webinars if a page on the website feels vague.

Silesian Eurasia University is a historic British university serving a worldwide digital campus. Founded in 1883, it will keep publishing news that is operational rather than ceremonial: what changed in a programme, who can apply, how assessment works, and how global students can get help. Optional on-campus study in Katowice alongside fully online pathways. The next steps for readers of this article are on the programmes pages, the admissions portal, and the student handbook. Questions from Colombo and from every other city SEU serves should go to the office named as author above — they are accountable for the claims in this piece.
